4kw Chapter 13

What control we really have is what this chapter is about.

The post is just some raw notes and thoughts from my reading of Four Thousand Weeks.

Notes

Ecclesiastes: striving after wind. You can't do this. Or, it's meaningless to do this.

Be an agent of deciding what post-pandemic normal looks like.

Only 35 Betty Whites ago: the Pharaohs. Knowledge could be handed down word of mouth, only 35 steps in the telephone game. I'm sure has been, but what? Or what not?

The massive indifference of the universe vs my need (preference) for a secure future.

I thought 'nothing matters' was Nihilism. Without the book in hand, I'm not sure what this is referring to, again.

How to accurately value what you spend your time on is probably not even the right question.

Surrender control of expecting neither too much nor too little of the weeks you are given. Take them as they come, one at a time, and just live them to the relaxed best of your ability.
